As the school year approaches, I have to remind myself the swim season isn’t far away. As of writing, we’re only 90 days away from the opening practice for our girls (Oct 25). That being said, we’re even closer to needing to order suits, I’ll have that final timeframe in the upcoming days as we finalize our A3 Performance storefront (for swimming gear) and our BSN Store for other apparel.
I would highly encourage you to share the BSN store with others, as we will be using that as a quick-hit fundraiser for the team. Last year we raised close to $300 just off of apparel sales. That was extremely helpful, considering we weren’t able to run our Swim-a-thon, which I intend to plan for sometime in December around our holiday break training.
However, the most critical piece at this time is to get our new swimmers and parents initiated to Team App. Team App is our communication platform, which will allow the coaching staff to send notifications to your cell phone or email address regarding: cancellations, meet changes or any other important information.
Getting Started with TeamApp
- Download TeamApp on the Google Play or App Store
- Click “Find Your Team / Club” > Search for Batesville Swimming
- Create an Account, filling out the information
- Most important information: I use these items to update our Team Manager database
- Parents — Address
- Athletes — Phone, Birthdate and Graduation Year
It’s recommended to leave notifications on. I try to post infrequently and only ping you when it’s important. Some articles will cause alerts, others won’t. Again, I try to use notifications sparingly. In the offseason, feel free to disable the alerts.
First Team Meeting
We will attempt to have a team meeting in the first or second week of September during SRT. This timeframe will also be when we have the sizing kit for our team suits. If you don’t know your suit size, it’s highly recommended to use the sizing kit. We will only have the kit for approximately 1-week. If you miss this window, you won’t have another chance to try the suits on. This will be arranged when the kit is on its way, and will likely occur at the high school in the afternoon (approximately 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon).
Shortly after this initial meeting I’ll work on scheduling a parent meeting. It’s easier to work this way as I can collect parent information during the SRT meeting.
Upcoming Schedule

- Suit Orders Due: Week 4 of September, to Week 2 of October
- First Meet: Week of 11/17 (Earliest first meet is 11/9).
- I have been working on adjusting our meet schedule and have not heard back yet.
