Greg McMullen

Head Coach

Greg McMullen became the head coach in 2017, becoming the second head coach of the Batesville High School swimming program.

The 2017-18 squad featured numerous top-16 finishes at the IHSAA Columbus North Sectional and included a record breaking performance by Allison Storms in the 100 Breast.

In 2018-19, the team featured a strong incoming class and the men’s side nearly doubled in size from the previous campaign. Both teams finished in the middle of the pack at the Sectional meet with the men’s team improving on the overall number of swims from the previous season.

In 2019-2020, the men’s team nearly doubled in size (again). The women’s team finished the season in nearly and identical position as the previous year splitting the win-loss record. Both teams performed extremely well at EIAC and Sectionals putting more individuals in scoring position.

The 2020-21 season started off shaky with the various COVID-19 protocols put into place. However, both teams saw improvement throughout the season including the first All-Conference swimmer in a number of years on the men’s side, Benjamin Moster. His performances in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke secured his first All-EIAC award of his career. At the EIAC Meet, the men’s team finished in second place while the women finished fifth. At the IHSAA Sectional meet 5 of 9 individuals scored on the men’s side with 3 of 11 swimmers scoring on the women’s side.

McMullen previously has coached for the Northern Kentucky Clippers, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and at fellow IHSAA competitor Pike High School.

McMullen graduated with a Master of Education in Coaching Education and Athlete Development (2016) and a B.S. in Business Administration from Xavier University. He is employed by Xavier University as a Senior Web Developer and resides in Batesville with his wife, Sarah, and his three daughters.
